Support for better sleep
Personalised & holistic guidance to a well-rested family!
Understandably, whilst working with families at home during their first few weeks and months of parenthood, one of the most common topics that came up over and over again was… sleep.
If you’re reading this, you’ve likely weathered the storm of sleepless nights or you’re in it as we speak, and you’re likely feeling the level of ‘tired’ that only a parent can appreciate. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
Even before having my own children, I observed friends powering through the days and weeks of very limited sleep and figuring out that often the intention of ‘the baby will just fit into my life’ is actually not always possible. When I became a mum and through a lot of research (and scrolling), I came to understand that baby sleep is an actual science. I realised that most babies, aside from the odd unicorn, are heavily impacted by the need for a routine and predictability in their day. Ultimately, I ended up having ‘good sleepers’ because I made them that way… through routine, tweaking their nap times and supporting them in learning how to sleep independently.
I very much appreciate the value of sleep and that actually having some, changes everything. It is unsustainable to live off very little for a prolonged period of time and so as my passion in this space grew. I want to support families and see them thrive rather than struggle in the overwhelm and so I decided to add ‘Infant Sleep Consultant’ to my bow.
I’m not here to tell you that you must ‘sleep train’ your baby. But, I do want to tell you that the words ‘sleep training’ are probably not what you think they are. We have unfortunately developed a misunderstanding somewhere along the way and many mums (including myself in those early months) avoid seeking support because they fear that they’ll be told the only way to improve their baby’s sleep is to leave them to cry, alone.
This is not true. And it is not what you will hear from me.
You can be gentle. You can be responsive and your baby’s sleep can improve.
We don’t need to encourage parents to feel guilty that they don’t want to co-sleep or that they don’t want to rock their baby to sleep multiple times a night. We all have different family set ups, different levels of tolerance and different ideas as to what feels right for us.
I’m here with absolutely no judgement. Only support. If you would benefit from some informed guidance that leads to a well rested family, please reach out for more information.
